RANA DE OJOS ROJOS (Agalychnis callidryas)

Is one of the most beautiful frogs of the world, they are nocturnal and move over the leaves of the trees. they have a flat body and sticky fingers that let them climb the leaves and trees, also have a interdigital membrane between fingers that help them when they jump from one leave to another

Male is smaller than female, male can get 5,6 cm and female 7,1 cm, the best characteristic are their big red eyes.

The red eye tree frog catch crickets, fly, and moths with their big sticky tongue. Their predators are birds, bats, snakes.

They are not venemous even when they are very colorful. This famous amphibian sleeps during the day under the leaves hiding the colors. When it feels unsafe it open the big red eyes and shows the orange feet trying to scare the predators.

Las ranas verdes de ojos rojos atrapan grillos, moscas y polillas con su larga y pegajosa lengua. Entre sus depredadores se pueden nombrar las aves, murciélagos y serpientes.

La rana de ojos rojos a pesar de su llamativa coloración no son venenosas. Este famoso anfibio de las selvas tropicales duerme durante el día en la parte inferior de la hojas, ocultando los colores de su cuerpo. Cuando es molestado abre sus grandes ojos rojos y muestra sus grandes patas naranjas y sus costados, que son de un brillante azul con amarillo, como una técnica de defensa tratando de asustar a sus depredadores aparentando ser peligrosos.
